Isobel Marshall and Eloise Hall were heading into the most important school year when they attended a leadership conference that would change not only their lives, but also the lives of women around the world.
What started off as a local, social enterprise with the vision of helping disadvantaged women to fight period poverty around the world has now grown into a global, social enterprise.
So while ‘Aunt Flow’ has come for her monthly visit and we’re rugged-up, binge eating unhealthy amounts of chocolate while watching Netflix, we forget that many women don’t have access to adequate healthcare, education and sanitary products.
In many developing countries around the world women are ostracised, dehumanised and humiliated for being a female and menstruating once a month. With barely any access to female health education and resources, these women are in a continuous cycle, which often impacts their education, health, careers and social lives.
With there being many parts of the world where women have limited, or have no access to sanitary products and female health is a TABOO topic, TABOO launched a sanitary products to help change the world.
Organised by Girl About Town, we were invited to celebrate the launch of TABOO sanitary products.
TABOO’s sanitary products are ethically sourced, made from 100% pure cotton and manufactured using power from a Spanish hydroelectric plant.
At the heart of TABOO’s vision, 100% of net profits will be re-invested into giving women in developing countries access to proper menstrual health care and education.
If Eloise and Isobel haven’t already won you over with their amazing vision to help women all over the world, there’s more.
The girls have set-up a program where people can purchase sanitary products to be sent to disadvantaged women sleeping rough around Australia. So whether you don’t bleed or you don’t require the products you can still support TABOO’s mission by donating the products to someone who really needs it.
So you may be wondering- how do you get your hands on TABOO’s products?
The girls have created two options: you can either do one-off purchases or you can subscribe.
The convenience of the subscription option is perfect for the on-the-go girl with the products delivered to your door based on how often you’d like.
