Lollipop Markets 5th Birthday

The November Lollipop Markets is always an exciting place to kick start the Christmas shopping, and this November, the market celebrated their 5 year anniversary.

The Christmas market is always a bumper one. Set up outside undercover, it lovely shopping in shaded fresh air. The stall designs seem to get better and more elaborate  each market, and blow me away with the creative ways people think of to display their wares, like Easton Inc. and Neat 2 Eat.

I love discovering new handmade local businesses at market,s and last weekend I fell in love with first timers Fire + Stone. I picked a beautiful large hand painted pot with a gorgeous succulent. Luckily I got to the girls early as apparently they could have sold my pot many times over. This beauty was not on the present list and now hapily lives on my dining table.

I also love seeing local businesses in the flesh after following them on Instagram and Facebook for months. Two that were as beautiful in real life as in social media land were Poppy and Peach and Easton Inc. The timber displays of both of these beautiful businesses set off all of the stunning goods, and offered styling ideas and inspiration for shoppers to mimmick at home.

While shopping at Easton Inc. I was excited about the Advent Calendar promotion that was going on, and Molly got to pick a number and was lucky enough to choose a free A4 prints from their designs. What a great idea I love it as does she. I couldn’t resist purchasing a few Christmas presents here including a watermelon pencil holder and I also picked up some letter banners I had pre-ordered through Instagram. These will look great on the Christmas tree.

Always a favourite with my kids is That’s Cute, where they always buy water beads with their pocket money. I was delighted to see the fairy door all set up with with lots of accessories for sale. I purchased a few goodies for Molly’s fairy door I absolutely love to how they had it set up in a shadowbox- I think I will replicate this at home. Such a cool idea! Molly bought some fairy dust and I also bought some twig pencils for the kids that will be great in their Santa sacks.

A few other Christmas presents that I manage to buy included a very cute fruit cutting set from A Huff and a Puff , a concrete planter from Verri Charmed, some wall decals from Isobel & Bea, as well as some amazing felt food from Chook Shed Designs. These were all presented so beautifully in a market cart, I just couldn’t resist. I also got a very cute gold pair for Molly as well.

The feedback I was getting from talking to the business owners was that it was an amazing market. I chatted to many and everyone was so thrilled with the turnout. People were very busy buying items from their Christmas lists, and Neat 2 Eat even had to call in for her husband to bring down more supplies as she had sold out of so many things in the first two hours!

With this amazing success, credit goes to Kaye and Nicole, again providing such a wonderful opportunity for shoppers and sellers a-like… aren’t we lucky to have such an amazing markets. Bravo to all involved.
