Australia Day In The City

The event begins at 6:00pm with one of the largest Australia Day Parades in the country, featuring more than 4000 people celebrating what they love about Australia and being Australian. The Parade includes community groups, vintage cars, horses, marching bands, a giant echidna, floats, giant characters and includes a fly past by an F-18 Hornet.

Australia Day in the City: Elder Park | King William Road, Adelaide

Australia Day In The City

Featuring Ricki-Lee and Chris Sebastian.

Vibrancy, community and the celebration of national pride come together at the annual Australia Day in the City event. The event begins at 6pm with a parade featuring more than 4000 people marching through the streets of Adelaide in celebration of Australia.

After the Parade, 40,000 people join together in Elder Park to watch the Australia Day Concert.  A Welcome to Country is given by members of the Kaurna Community before the concert kicks off in full swing featuring some of Australia’s hottest artists.

As night falls, all eyes turn to the beautiful River Torrens for the spectacular display of fireworks.

Taking up residence on the Semaphore foreshore, this Summer Carnival is a fun filled outing for the whole family. Loads of carnival rides and games including  Cyclone, Dodgem Cars, WOW Water Balls, Bungee Trampolines, and Laughing Clowns for your enjoyment! Additionally, Semaphore Summer Carnival boasts the Mega Bounce, as well as other games and thrill rides!

Open each day of the school holidays, there will be Australia Day Fireworks are at 9.30pm.

Australia Day Bush Fair: South Adelaide Football Club

Celebrate Australia Day at the City of Onkaparinga’s Australia Day Bush Fair with gold coin entry and free parking. Families will love the Bush Fair with free family focused activities and a huge entertainment line-up including roving children’s acts, live music and Aussie displays.

The Australia Day Awards, held in conjunction with the bush fair, recognise local individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to our community. Mayor Rosenberg will present the Australia Day Awards for citizen, young citizen and community event of the year. Pack a picnic or explore a variety of stalls offering local food, refreshments, wares and novelties available for purchase. Finish the night and public holiday with a bang! A spectacular fireworks* display synchronised to music. Alcohol is not permitted and this is a smoke free event.

Australia Day at the Bay: Glenelg Beach

This year’s Australia Day ceremony will welcome over 60 people from 13 countries, who will take the oath to become Australian citizens. We will also celebrate our local heroes as they receive well-deserved Australia Day Awards. You are welcome to join us from 7am for the Kiwanis community fundraiser BBQ breakfast. Following the ceremony the community is invited to enjoy free activities until mid-afternoon on the Foreshore reserve such as live music, balloon twister, roving entertainment, giant games, Dig a Dino and facepainting.

Australia Day Family Picnic 2018: Salisbury Park

One of Salisbury’s largest events! Bring your family along and celebrate Australia Day in the beautiful Carisbrooke Park. The day kicks off with entertainment and a FREE community breakfast from 8am. This massive day of family-friendly entertainment includes live music and performances, low cost activities for the kids, face-painting, airbrush tattoos and a FREE Kids Zone featuring a sandpit and craft activities. Australia Day Breakfasts: City of Onkaparinga

Australia Day Breakfasts are being held at four locations around our city on Friday 26 January 2018 from 8am until 11am. The breakfasts are a fantastic opportunity for the community and families to come together to celebrate Australia Day and to enjoy a free breakfast provided by the City of Onkaparinga. There will be entertainment along with activities for the children.

The breakfasts will be held at four locations around our city:
Aldinga Beach – Symonds Reserve, Butterworth Road
Aberfoyle Park – Bob Such Reserve, Jessica Street (NEW LOCATION)
Noarlunga Centre – Ramsay Place
Willunga – The Old Court House

Residents need only bring a picnic rug or chair. The breakfasts have a great atmosphere and are enjoyed by all ages. So come along to meet and connect with your community and reflect on our history, diversity, achievements and bright future.
