Imagine every time you bought staples like bread, milk, petrol and coffee, the shop you purchased them from donated part of your total to your favourite charity or community group! South Australia’s largest private employer OTR, is giving back to our local community, and they could not make it any easier for you to be involved.
OTR have today, launched their community program OTRGive, which is facilitated through their phone App. Customers can choose a recipient of the donation from a list of 12 charities and organisations, and when shopping in their stores or through pre-ordering products on the App, have their OTR App scanned and a percentage of their spend will go directly to the community group as a donation by OTR on the customer’s behalf.
This innovative program aims to give local community groups and organisations regular, significant donations. Users of the App can change their recipients as often as they like, and new community groups will be added over the next few months. Users can also track the donations that have been made on their behalf, as well as learning about the specific projects the money is being used on.
Some of the community groups that are receiving the donations include Make-A-Wish, WCH Foundation, Zoos SA, AnglicareSA, Guide Dogs SA/NT and St John Ambulance SA. Over the next few months, an additional 24 groups will be added to the App. It is expected that donations facilitated through the OTR App will exceed $1 million to South Australian charities and community groups, so the more people that use the App, the higher the donations will tally.
